Dr. Nweke was invited to present at the 2020 COSMOS Technical Session which was originally slated to occur virtually on November 19-20. However, due to logistical issues related to the COVID pandemic, it was postponed till January 27-28, 2021. The theme of interest was “Emerging Technologies in Ground Motion” and as such Dr. Nweke was asked to present on his current investigations of “Basin Effects in Simulated and Observed Ground Motions for Southern California“. The presentation was pre-recorded and is available here. The COSMOS annual technical session is a forum for seismologist and seismic engineers to come together and discuss issues related to the use of earth science data by the engineering and research community.
